Ramsgate Reconnects
An accessible sound workshop, using conductive paint and the Makey Makey kit to create a tactile sonic map exploring themes of ‘regeneration. Workshop blurb below:
Friday 25th & Monday 28th August, 1-4pm at Arts in Ramsgate.
What does it mean to ‘regenerate’ a town? And what does regeneration mean for Ramsgate?
Are you excited because more shops might open on the high street? Are you worried your rent might go up, making it more difficult for you to live here? Maybe you have a mixture of feelings, or maybe you just don’t know what to expect at all.
Ramsgate Reconnects is a chance for you to respond to the council’s plans for ‘Ramsgate Future’, an opportunity to air your views and amplify your voice. We will immerse ourselves in a symphony of sounds as we work together to create a tactile sonic map, thinking through the impact of change and connection together.
With the help of composer, sonic artist and Neurodivergent Advocate Louis Palfrey, this collaborative, temporary installation will use conductive paint and the power of touch to bring aspects of the decision making process to life.
This is an independent event and not affiliated with Thanet District Council or Ramsgate Town Council. Your feedback will be shared with the regeneration team at TDC. These workshops exists to help amplify the voices of townspeople; whether you have positive, negative or mixed feelings.
