Hello,
I’m Louis, an award-winning composer, music technologist, improviser, facilitator, and researcher based in Ramsgate, Kent, UK.
It was pretty hard for me to write a catch-all bio for this site because I do a lot of different stuff that’s sometimes unrelated, but still important to me. This is my attempt, always a work in progress:
I create work for film, audio drama, podcasts, games, performance and installations, as well as self-releasing music spanning multiple genres under the name Mouthless.
I also:
- Run workshops and private sessions on recording, production, composition, and improvised performance
- Deliver talks, workshops, and contribute to conversations around Neurodiversity and inclusion in educational and employment settings
- Co-Direct an organisation called Neurodivergent Friends CIC
- Sit on the Ramsgate Plan for Neighbourhoods, Pride in Place Board
- Am currently working towards a PhD at Canterbury Christ Church University, exploring free improvisation and Neurodivergence
I approach my work through a ‘practice of play-not-practise’, grounded in improvisation, attention, presence, and embodied exploration.
When not working to a brief, my work often explores Neurodivergent identity, ‘beginner’s mind’, environment, accessibility, generative and chance processes, and technology. Sometimes I makes stuff just because.
